Trinidad is one of the most enigmatic brands in the Habanos portfolio. Originally produced exclusively as diplomatic gifts by the Cuban government — presented to visiting heads of state and dignitaries — it was not commercially available until 1998. That origin still shapes the brand’s character: Trinidad cigars are quiet, composed and impeccably made.

The Vigia is Trinidad’s most compact standard production vitola at 98mm × 26 ring gauge — an exceptionally thin format that reflects the brand’s philosophy of restraint. A ring gauge of 26 places it in the category of slender cigars requiring a very different production technique: every leaf must be cut to precise dimensions and the rolling must achieve perfect draw in a format where small errors are immediately apparent.

The flavour profile is delicate and floral — the lightest of the Trinidad range and arguably the most elegant short smoke in the Habanos catalogue. Cedar and light grassiness open the cigar; a gentle herbal note and soft coffee develop through the mid-section; the close is clean and dry. At 30 minutes, it is a composed, complete experience.
