Quai D’Orsay is a uniquely positioned brand in the Habanos portfolio — it was originally created in the 1970s exclusively for the French market, drawing its name from the famous Parisian street on the banks of the Seine. Today it remains one of Cuba’s most distinctive marques, characterised by a deliberately lighter construction that distinguishes it from virtually every other Habanos brand.

The key difference lies in the blend: Quai D’Orsay uses only the lightest grades of Vuelta Abajo leaf and deliberately avoids the heavy ligero tobaccos that give most Cuban cigars their body and strength. The result is a mild-to-medium cigar with a character unlike anything else from Havana — floral, hay-forward and creamy, with an accessibility that makes it one of the most recommended introductions to Cuban cigars.

The Nº 50 is the brand’s Robusto offering at approximately 5 1/2″ × 50 — a generous ring gauge that produces a smooth, cool smoke. The profile opens with hay and light floral notes; the mid-section develops cedar and a subtle creaminess; the close is clean and composed with a faint dry spice. It is a cigar that emphasises comfort and character over complexity.
