Ramon Allones holds a particular place in the Cuban cigar world: it is the recommendation serious smokers make when they want to share something exceptional without publicising it. Less celebrated than Cohiba and Partagas, it has quietly maintained one of the most respected reputations in the Habanos portfolio for those who know where to look.

The Specially Selected is the brand’s flagship vitola — a 4 7/8″ × 50 Robusto that is deceptively familiar in format and deeply individual in character. Ramon Allones is one of the fuller-bodied regular-production Habanos, using a higher ligero content in the blend than comparably sized cigars from other brands. The result is a Robusto that opens with a richness and depth that surprises.

Dark roasted coffee and damp earth define the first third. The mid-section produces leather, dark cocoa and a savoury note that distinguishes Ramon Allones from every superficially similar Robusto. The final third builds in intensity with black pepper and molasses — a sustained, warm finish that stays with you.

Ramon Allones is also one of Cuba’s oldest brands (established 1837), with a claim to being the first to package cigars in the decorated cedar boxes that became the industry standard.
